Hit-and-Run Driver Slams Officer
DALLAS – Police need your help to find a hit-and-run driver who smashed into a Dallas police officer, sending him to the hospital.
The wreck happened shortly after midnight Sunday at the intersection of Inwood Drive and Forest Lane.Police say Sr. Cpl. Charles Fleming was in his squad car, headed west on Forest Lane. The suspect driving north on Inwood and was supposed to stop at a red light, but didn’t.The collision mangled the front of the officer’s squad car, but also seriously damaged the suspects truck.

Police say the damaged truck is a solid blue late 90s or early 2000 model Chevy or GMC full size regular cab pickup. It has 5-spoke factory wheels, side trim, a metal front bumper, and metal tube rails on the cargo bed. There is severe front damage to the passenger front side and may have two flat tires.The suspect himself is a black male about 50 years old, about 6’4″ weighing about 250 pounds.
Sr. Cpl. Fleming was treated at Baylor Hospital and released.
